We look forward to hearing about your high school experiences this fall.

7th Graders "Stand up, Speak Out"

On January 15th students from the Mattapan Square Campus attended “Stand Up, Speak Out” at Boston College.  This annual leadership conference drew participation from many Catholic Schools from around the Archdiocese.  Our group of seventh graders worked with volunteers from Boston College and participants from the other Pope John Paul II campuses to develop leadership skills and to learn about different ways that they can make a positive impact on their school community. The students were taught various ways to connect to others, how to work together for a common goal, and how to support their ideas and present them to adults.  In the end, all students were challenged to come up with an action plan that would benefit their school.  Students from the Mattapan Square Campus are focusing on developing different types of fund raising.  They would like to use the profits from the fund raising to go on more field trips.

Grade 6 Wins First Annual Fundraising Pig Race

The Mattapan Square Campus held its First Annual Meadowbrook Farm Fundraising Pig Race Competition in the parking lot of the school. Each grade was represented by a wind-up toy pig that the class had decorated to show their spirit! Mr. Morales created a racetrack on the parking lot and the wind-up pigs were off to the races! The Academy would like to congratulate Mr. Sullivan and the Grade 6 class at Mattapan for winning the pig race. Also, thanks to all the students at the Mattapan Campus who took part in the fundraising process! Keep up the great work.
